Starting August 30, 2015, Nintendo is dropping the price point of their wallet friendly 2DS handheld system from $129.99 to $99.99. Even better, many 2DS bundles even include a free game such as the high quality Mario Kart 7.
Originally launched in fall 2013, the 2DS system launched along side Pokemon X/Y. By removing features like stereoscopic 3D and the hinged clamshell design, Nintendo was able to produce a low cost starter system for fans wanting to take advantage of the 3DS library without playing in 3D.
This price drop kicks off the upcoming holiday season which is bound to be rather competitive with new gen systems promising more storage space and included games.
The New 3DS XL still remains at $199.99.
