2k Sports, the publishing arm of Take-Two Interactive, is developing another sports title which will be released this summer. Titled [i]The BIGS[/i] the game will take place in the Major Leagues of baseball which while be formulated so that the players can pick up the game with a minimum of difficulty and carry through the game with a combination of good instincts and proper planning of the games. For times when you do make a good play, or don't and want to know why, the game will also feature a replay feature for every play.
Greg Thomas, the president of one of 2k Sports's studios Visual Concepts , stated that “"With The BIGS, we want to take the baseball genre to new heights and redefine what a baseball video game can be," said Greg Thomas, President of Visual Concepts, a 2K Sports studio. "The BIGS has the fast learning curve of an arcade game coupled with deep play mechanics, amazing visuals, and hero-like presentation of real MLB(r) players that will keep gamers coming back for more. The BIGS will showcase dramatic highlight reel moments at every at-bat, creating a truly epic baseball title."
All the high cinema moments of baseball will make an appearance in this game from wall grabs, long dives for the ball, and homeruns that will wow both you and the crowd at the same time. The control system will deliver a new level to the game previously unseen while the mechanics of the level up system while increase the depth of the game. From time to time the pitcher and the batter will square off and either the power of the throw or the power of the batter will determine who wins.
In addition to the attention paid to the gameplay mechanics the player models have also been subjected to a great deal of attention in terms of their face and physical details to enhance the realism. In addition many legendary ballparks, such as San Francisco's AT&T park or Boston's Fenway park the gameplay elements, the realistic characters and areas, all of these will come together to deliver the never before seen realism that 2k Sports is promising.
Upon it's release the game will be making an appearance on the Xbox 360, PS2 and PS3, PSP, and the Wii this summer. Stay tuned to MyGamer for more news on this title and other stories in the gaming world.
