Atari Teams Up With Denny’s To Create New Old Atari 2600 Games

Denny’s restaurants and Atari have teamed up to create new Atari 2600 games. Well, to be clear, these are old Atari 2600 titles just re-skinned to provide a Denny’s theme on mobile devices. If Pepsi can do it, why not Denny’s?

Hasteroids is Asteroids but you play as a ketchup bottle firing at hash browns.

Take-Out is a new version of Break-Out but instead of destroying bricks, the player destroys bacon, eggs, and pancakes by bouncing an egg from a plate instead of a ball and paddle.

Centipup is a new take on Centipede where you play as a squirting syrup bottle while moving around fried eggs.

All these games are available on the Google Play and iTunes stores, complete with retro box art and everything. Search for “Denny’s Atari Remix” and it should pop up. This three game bundle is free and is just over 35mb from the Google Play store.

The official website says:

“Gamers, rejoice! Denny’s and Atari® have teamed up for a video game remix you don’t want to miss. Save the universe from ominous hashbrown clumps in Hashteroids, destroy the evil creatures of Wonderfood Forest in Centipup, and break through giant walls of breakfast food in Takeout. Three classic games with a diner twist. And they all fit snugly on your mobile device. What are you waiting for?”

So what do you think? Excited to see a new take on these old games or is Atari selling out? Does this make you hungry for fried greasy food? Let us know what you think.
