The PS3 is a powerhouse, of that there is no doubt, and while most people seem to view the PS3 as the one to top the gaming pyramid later this year the Springfield news leader has taken the opposite view. On it's Entertainment page this year it has voted the Wii to be in and the PS3 to be out. Yes, that's right..out. Take a look at what they said themselves.
“In: Nintendo Wii — With its innovative motion-sensing controller, the latest console from The House That Mario Built is taking the gaming world by storm and could put Nintendo back on top of the gaming biz in 2007. We challenge you to find one on a store shelf.”
“Out: Sony PlayStation 3 — Short on positive buzz, the long-dominant PlayStation brand could take a hit in 2007 thanks to the PS3’s shockingly high price tag ($599) and stiffer competition from the Wii and Microsoft’s Xbox 360.”
The article is here if you want the rest of the in and out this year. http://www.news-leader.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20061231/ENTERTAINMENT/61230007/1094
So it seems that the future status of the PS3 is still uncertain. Some say yes, some say no..others simply tell you to pick up that controller and get on with it. It's a long year ahead of us, gamers..you might not want to put your money on anything.
