Spend, Spend, Spend! –
In terms of game quality, November is probably the highest rated month throughout all of 2013. A Link to the Past, the unforgettable SNES installment, is the perfect hype builder for A Link Between World’s launch later this month, Dillon’s Rolling Western has been a critical and commercial success unique to the 3DS eShop, Metroid is one of the most epic NES titles to ever grace the system, and Cubello is a WiiWare title that you never knew existed. Hopefully you have several hundred coins saved up because this is the month to redeem.
Game #1 – The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (Wii Virtual Console, SNES)
Price – 150 Coins, normally 800 Wii Points ($8)
Availability – Nov. 4 2013 – Dec. 12, 2013
Summary – The beloved SNES Legend of Zelda adventure.
Opinion – It is no coincidence Nintendo is offering this title for free in the month of November 2013 with A Link Between Worlds launching in just a couple of weeks.
Worth Your Club Nintendo Coins? – Yes, absofrigginglutely!
Game #2 – Dillon’s Rolling Western (3DS eShop)
Price – 200 Coins, normally $9.99
Availability – Nov. 4 2013 – Dec. 12, 2013
Summary – A new take on tower defense that incorporates 3rd person action.
Opinion – With high critical praise and enough sales to spawn a sequel, this is one game that should not be passed up.
Worth Your Club Nintendo Coins? Besides being a quality game, it is one of the few proprietary 3DS eShop titles Nintendo has offered for the Club Nintendo program. Take advantage of the situation while it lasts.
Game #3 – Metroid (3DS Virtual Console, NES)
Price – 150 Coins, normally $4.99
Availability – Nov. 4 2013 – Dec. 12, 2013
Summary – The first game in the Metroid series.
Opinion – Undoubtedly, the original Metroid is a quality game. Even though the save state feature is a great for this game, new comers might be turned off by the lack of map or guidance system. It is a challenge. Are you up for it?
Worth Your Club Nintendo Coins? – If you have enough coins after getting A Link to the Past and Dillon’s Rolling Western, then yes. The other two games should take priority over Metroid through.
Game #4 – Art Style: Cubello (WiiWare)
Price – 150 Coins, normally 600 Wii Points ($6)
Availability – Nov. 4 2013 – Dec. 12, 2013
Summary – A single player puzzle game that plays like a light-gun shooter.
Opinion – The black sheep of games offered this month, Cubello could actually be that sleeper hit that you never played.
Worth Your Club Nintendo Coins? – If you have coins left over and are looking for something a little different and underplayed, then Cubello is worth a look.
