When I awoke this past Thursday, I was like a kid on Christmas. Long had I waited for new Call of Duty 3 Valor Pack maps, but little did I know that this day would end up an infuriating exercise in futility. After waking up early to download the map pack for 800 points, I went online to quickly find out that now only didn’t they show up on my Xbox but on everyone’s as well. I placed a call to the Xbox Live Help Desk and was told to erase it and download it again, in futility.
Many forums are filled with angry gamers threatening on boycotting the franchise and other threats, the folks at Activision and released this statement, “Hey Call of Duty 3 fans: We wanted to keep you posted on the status of our efforts to resolve the download problem with the new Valor map pack that was released Thursday. We are working through the weekend, as we have not yet reached a resolution, and we will provide a more detailed update on Monday. The team is continuing to work closely with Microsoft to address this. Thanks everybody for your patience and understanding. We’re sorry for any inconvenience. Please know that we are on it and we will see this through.”
As soon as we hear anything on this matter, you’ll be the first to know. And believe me, I’ll be listening.
