Electronic Arts has announced the Best of Battlefield online tournament.
256 clans, playing on both the PS2 and Xbox platforms, will battle it out in EA?s new game [i]Battlefield 2: Modern Combat[/i]. The tournament will offer three cash prizes to the top four clans; [b]Grand Prize: $250,000[/b]- awarded to the championship round winners, [b]First Prize: $50,000[/b] ? awarded to the championship round losers, [b]Second Prize: $10,000[/b] ? awarded to the two teams that made it to their platform bracket finals but lost.
Once the tournament begins, the head-to-head combat will continue until only two teams remain, one on PS2 and one on Xbox. The team with the highest score will choose which platform the championship round will be held on. Then they will battle for a quarter of a million dollars.
