EA Confirms No Madden for Nintendo Consoles in 2013

Madden NFL 25 will not be released for Wii U.  This is the first time that this legendary series has bypassed Nintendo systems since 1991.

“We have a strong partnership with Nintendo and will continue to evaluate opportunities for delivering additional Madden NFL products for Nintendo fans in the future,” an EA spokesperson said.

EA did release Madden NFL 13 for both Wii and Wii U last year.

FIFA might also not come to Nintendo systems as it has only been announced for PS3, PC, and 360.

The cause is most likely due to the underwhelming sales of the Wii U.  Selling only 3.45 million units worldwide and just 400,000 systems in 2013, EA probably would not see a return on their investment to port Madden to Nintendo’s latest system.

EA simply released Madden Football for the 3DS upon the system’s launch in early 2011 and has not returned to Nintendo latest handheld since.  Madden Football for 3DS also resulted in very low review scores as it was probably rushed to meet the launch window of the 3DS hardware.
