Do you trade in old games or sell them?

I tend to keep my favorite older games just to replay them. It's kind of nice to have a nice library to keep around, and pick up something that I hadn't played for five years just to kind of relax, and enjoy it once more. If I HAVE to sell a game though for any sort of reason (usually to fund...

    Favorite Console of All Time

Ohhhhh man. For me, it's a toss up between the SNES, or the PS1. While I enjoyed my N64 as a kid, and it has a lot of classics on it, I can't help but get nostalgic for either of the previous mentioned consoles. The SNES I remember fondly spending long evenings with my brother, or friends on...

How do you define a retro game?

Personally speaking, I always imagined that retro games were more along the lines of being several generations behind, or when the current generation of gamers predominately were too young to have played those games. So for now, anything from the PS2 era and before it could be defined as retro...

    Occulus Rift

I think the Occulus Rift will be pretty popular. I honestly don't think it'll be the ground breaking technology a lot of people are envisioning, but I have a feeling it'll be another platform for people to develop games for, and eventually lead to another genre entirely that are developed...

Playstation 4 vs. Xbox One - Pros and Cons

I was recently on the fence regarding PS4 or XboxOne since I've been wanting to upgrade from my 360 lately, and thanks to this thread I'm probably more than likely going to be looking at getting a PS4 with my next paycheck.

SteamVR, Occulus Rift, or Google box?

Personally? I'm going to go with Occulus Rift. Mostly because it's had the most exposure, the most backing, and has been one of the longest developed versions of the hardware. While I don't doubt Google's ability to improve on the technology, Im going to back up the more well established version...

    Too old to play games?

I'm going to be 30 here soon. Too old? HAHA! That makes me laugh. My grandfather before he passed was 77, loved computers, and spent his retirement years playing video games, Age of Empires 2 being the one he predominately played all day. My father was a fan of Westerns and would play Red Dead...

What do you enjoy in your spare time? (well, aside from gaming)

For me, I got several other hobbies that keep me busy. Art being one of them, much like the OP of the thread. I love art. I love drawing. I love going to galleries. I just love doing creative hobbies. But I also enjoy movies, cartoons, and improving the skills I currently do have right now...

    League of legends?

I like the MOBA format that League of Legends does. And I certainly like to play against bots, but the one thing that seriously keeps me back from playing it in any meaningful capacity is the fact that I can't get past the community and how they regard newer players, or players attempting to...

    Do you play Emulator games?

Emulation is practically the only way I really game seriously anymore. Mostly because of money/time constraints. Plus, there's just something fun about firing up an SNES emulator, playing some old school JRPG's, or playing Goldeneye on an N64 emulator for an hour or so before work.

Parents: Do you follow the rating labels when buying a game for kids?

I'm like a lot of people. I don't have a child myself, but I do have nieces. I would not feel comfortable buying, or letting a kid, play any games that they are not old enough to play in my house. And I wouldn't buy them a game that they were not old enough to play even in my house. Its a little...

Older gamers? Remember when Pong came out?

Sadly Pong is a little bit before my time. Though I am probably an older gamer myself, having been born in 85. I'm actually going to be 30 here shortly. I played the NES in my childhood, remember getting an SNES for Christmas one year, working a summer job shucking corn for a PS1, getting a used...

Would you play games that were designed to help you mentally?

Actually I would so play games that helped me mentally. In fact, I had the math version of Brain Age that I used to take with me when I would go to the bathroom (sorry for the TMI), and I would spend about 20 minutes just playing and solving puzzles. At first, my score was pretty low. So low, my...

Which NES game did NOT depreciate in value for you?

For me personally? Super Pitfall. I know that the game is horribly designed, and that it has a lot of problems in how it runs. But for a young kid who was probably 6 or 7 at the time, it was crazy in that I could go in any direction in the game, and end up somewhere different. It was almost...

    Making Your Own Games

Actually, it's funny that you mention this. When I was younger, back in the early to mid 2000's I remember getting a hold of a program called "RPG Maker 2000" for the PC and spending hours, upon hours trying to create a game like my favorite SNES era JRPG's. I eventually did make several small...

    Heroes of the Storm

I've been playing HoTS on and off for several weeks, to almost several months now. Personally speaking, I like it a lot better than I do League, or DoTA2. Mostly in that the community itself for the game is still relatively young, so there's not a whole lot of backlash that comes with messing...

    Retro gaming vs gaming today

I don't know. A lot can be said for either retro, or modern gaming. There's a lot of charm in the older systems though, and I'm not just saying that for nostalgia reasons as an older gamer myself. In fact I remember the whole reason I got into gaming in the first place. It was because my Father...

    Best/Worst Video Game Movie Adaptations?

You know. The Warcraft movie does look pretty exciting actually. I've been a pretty longtime fan of the series myself, playing back on the blizzard launcher in the latter part of the 90's as a kid. So the thought of seeing the movie in less than a year is kind of exciting. As far as what I...
