The Kinect has far more applications outside of gaming than it does inside gaming as this point. Future editions of the sensor, if created, could make gaming an even more immersive experience rather than the awkward experience the Kinect currently provides to most users.

I like the update, although I never expect anything mind blowing with Xbox One or even PS4 updates. The updates are usually maintenance updates more than anything else, but new features are sometimes included with these major updates.

The Kinect is incredibly useful for certain functions and features, but it's not necessary by any means. If you're going to use the voice commands and play the Kinect-enabled games, then you'll obviously need the unit. Not everyone finds those features necessary, so they won't buy the Kinect bundle.

The Civilization series of games are incredible, and I've spent many hours pouring my mind into those games. They involve a decent amount of strategy, and there's plenty of variation between the games. I've considered each new addition an improvement upon its predecessor!
