Will most newer games require 6 GB of ram at least?

This is what I wanted to do, but my motherboard only has two slots for RAM, and these slots are already filled with two 2 GB sticks, so I can't get any more RAM unless I first sell one or both of these sticks, and buy one or two new sticks with more RAM. That is okay for one upgrade, but sooner...

Will most newer games require 6 GB of ram at least?

Thank you, I will do that the next time I open up my case, and write down everything I find. Hopefully, I'll be able to work something out, since I'm not sure if there are any shops selling this, because it's not such a popular brand, I think. We'll have to see. I'll download the program and I...

Are my new parts any good? What to buy next?

How do I know what frequencies my RAM runs at? Any program to check this out? Or do I have to go to the brand's website and find it out? I really have no idea, and would like to upgrade my RAM.

    Steam Community and Free Games

I can't stress enough how much I liked DayZ back when it was a mod. IT felt a lot more special and dying felt so much more important. It was a game where I would almost always have a story to tell about my previous session, like finnaly finding a car or fixing one, or killing a few bandits at...

Is Steam making you spend more on games than you used to do?

When you think about it, it really all depends. Sometimes, when I'm feeling like spending some money on ANYTHING, I buy a random cheap game that looks good. However, when Steam has big sales, like the summer or winter sales, I spend my money on games that I wanted to get for a long time, which...

    No-zombie survival games

No game comes to mind when you say no-zombie survival. Which ones have you found? I would like to try them out, myself. Don't Starve doesn't have zombies and it's all about survival, it's a good game in my opinion. It has monsters tho like big spiders and such, it's definitely not real like you...

Are you planning to buy The Crew on PC?

I was very hyped back when it was shown to us, and even when I was watching the gameplay videos, I really wanted this game. But as we come closer to release, my hype is falling rapidly. The biggest issue with the game, for me, is the handling. It doesn't look real, it looks like all the cars in...

    What game got you started?

What game really started it for me? Like the FIRST one? I can't decide, really. There were a few games I played when I got my first PC 12 years ago, and I can't remember which is the actual FIRST one that I have played, but I will name them anyway. The games I played when I got it were: Tom and...

Have you ever pirated a PC game?

I have to say I did. When I was a lot younger, I used to *buy* pirated copies of the game, because my internet speed and bandwidth were very low, and I couldn't pirate them myself. Pirating was the only way to play a game here where I live, because people don't think of gaming as important here...

Will most newer games require 6 GB of ram at least?

How do I make sure it can accept the new RAM? So basically, the best bet is to buy two sticks of same ram, rather than trying to find a 4 GB version of my 2 GB RAM stick? If I understood well. It may be a bit hard to find RAM that I can use, but I will give it a shot and hopefully, will be able...

    Any of you play DayZ?

Does anyone here play DayZ? Either Standalone or the mod. If you played both of them, which one do you like more and why? I liked the mod a lot more when it came out, because it was revolutionary and different. Standalone is not a bad game and it adds more features to the game, and it has...

How often do you upgrade your system?

I bought the PC that I use right now five years ago, and it wasn't so bad. Q9400, HD 4850, 4 GB of RAM and a 1TB HDD. It was quite good for a bit more advanced gaming. But then my GPU died half a year ago and I just had to get a new one. I could get the same one for a lot less money, but I...

Are my new parts any good? What to buy next?

Well, I have already bought these parts. I bought the GPU because I really needed one, since I wasn't gaming for 6 months and I couldn't take it anymore, and I got the power supply to handle the GPU and let me upgrade later on for something that may use more power. Don't have any money left...

    Counter Strike: Global Offensive

I enjoy playing CS: GO from time to time, but not too often, and my sessions aren't too long but I enjoy it. I am Gold Nova Master, as well, but I haven't played many ranked matches, maybe 20 or 30 as far as I can remember? It says 20-30 for something in the main menu next to my rank. Don't...

    Steam Community and Free Games

I think I could name a game of any genre that I think is good. There are many other games on Steam that I like and play a lot, Skyrim is just the one I have the most hours on, second being Team Fortress 2, but I don't play that anymore. Some other good games are: Company of Heroes, Witcher 2...

The Witcher 3 to be released with all DLC free of charge!

Ah yes, makes sense. Well, I am glad they don't make games just for profits, like many game developers do these days. Example is Saints Row. While I think that game is amazing, especially The Third, 20+ cosmetic DLCs, each for 2 dollars is ridiculous. Saints Row IV did the same thing. Just look...

    Steam Community and Free Games

Well, there are many good games on Steam, especially since there are sales almost 4-5 times a year. For example, you can get Skyrim, which is a personal favorite of mine, for 5 dollars. That is totally worth it, in my opinion. I clocked over 500 hours on that game, and got all the achievements...

Will most newer games require 6 GB of ram at least?

Are there any specific rules to buying RAM? As far as my logic tells me, it needs to run at same speed, obviously be DDR3 as well, but does it need to be the same brand? I really have no idea. Will I have any problems if I run 1x2GB and 1x4GB? Thanks.

What upcoming games are you interested in?

Ubisoft seems to be pushing out many interesting titles this year. What is Rogue like? As far as I saw, it is much like Black Flag, only a lot more concentrated on ships? I didn't really like that about Black Flag, that it was too concentrated on naval combat, but we'll see if I like this one...

    Battlefield 3 & 4

I still occasionally play Battlefield 3 and 4. Currently waiting for the newest expansion pack for Battlefield 4 to come out, to get back into playing it. I have always enjoyed these games a lot more than Call of Duty, or pretty much, any other shooter out there.
