Metal Gear Solid fans have a shot to get back up to snuff in terms of Metal Gear continuity before MGS4, with Konami announcing that they are bundling together all three Metal Gear Solid titles to be released on the PS2.
Metal Gear: The Essential Collection will bundle together Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance and Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence for the impressively low price of $29.99. Despite the lack of the Twin Snakes, the Gamecube's remake of MGS1, there is still an astounding amount of content there, with all three Metal Gear Solid titles, both of the actual, Japan-only Metal Gear titles (thanks to Subsistence) and online play thanks to Subsistence. A release date hasn't been announced, but if you haven't played much in the way of Metal Gear, this is probably the best bang for your buck that will come out this year.
