Mixcder is a California-based audio brand that’s been offering solid, reliable, and fashion-forward acoustic products for quite some time. This company’s new E7 headphones boast of reducing ambient sound by up to 96% in low frequency ranges like the sounds heard in city traffic, on the street, in busy offices, and on airplanes and subways.
I tried out the Mixcder E7 {2019 Upgrade} ANC noise-canceling headphones in the mint green color and wasn’t disappointed. With these budget headphones, you don’t have to break the bank to keep noise out and music in, so you can delve deeper into your music, media, or whatever you want to stay focused on. The upgraded E7 headset offers Bluetooth 5.0 for good sound quality, fewer drop-outs, and a more stable connection.
With the onboard microphone and Bluetooth connectivity, I was able to easily connect this unit to my smartphone for taking calls. The on-ear button controls offer efficiency and ease-of-use, for smooth calls with decent audibility when making hands-free calls. The fashionable, cool mint green color coating is eye-pleasing, to give you the ideal look. The skin-friendly protein memory foam leather ear cushions with 90-degree swivel are comfortable and snug fitting.
Good Sound & Long Listening Time
With dual 40mm high range drivers, the 2019 Mixcder E7 headphones deliver heart-pounding bass and audio which is impressive at the low price point of just under $60. The built-in 500mAh rechargeable lithium battery provides around 2 hours of playback. With the rapid charge capability, a short 5 minute charge gives you two hours of playback enjoyment, which is insane at this price point. A 100% full charge delivers an impressive 30 hours of on-ear, music-enjoying time.
Easy Wireless Control
When used wirelessly, the Mixcder E7 are controlled by a series of buttons and one switch on the ear cups. You can alter volume, toggle power, and play & pause your music. While it’s a cinch to use the buttons, they’re a bit over-sized, which isn’t the most subtle look. It would be nice to have an included voice prompt or LED power indicator feature, but that’s missing on these budget-minded headphones, which is understandable. They do come with a nice carry case which is made from a semi-hard fabric to offer some protection.
Stylish, Comfortable & Convenient
The 2019 E7 headphones are lightweight and soft, making them pleasurable to wear for hours on end. With a clever design that looks outstanding, these headphones fold up compactly so you can easily tuck them away. Since the ear muffs can be swiveled, you can make them lie flat on your shoulders, which is helpful when you need to talk to someone.
Noise Reduction is OK
As far as noise reduction is concerned, you can hear faint voices when wearing these headphones indoors, but the sound isn’t intrusive. They do a good job at nearly eliminating noises outside like sounds coming from car engines, tires, and wind. This helps you concentrate on the media or music you’re consuming, which is always important.
As you may already know, active noise cancellation (ANC) works via a mic that monitors ambient noise. The headphone drivers then create sound waves that are inverse of the noise to nullify it. The ANC effect with the Mixcder E7{2019 Upgrade] is subtle, when compared to more expensive headphones. While they do reduce some low-frequency noise, they’re unable to put up a barrier of silence that completely removes you from your surroundings. If these headphones were more expensive, I’d rate their noise cancellation as disappointing, but at this price point, I can’t complain.
When you’re using the Mixcder E7, you’ll feel a sense of the music surrounding your head in a 360-degree style, which is really great when you’re listening to dynamic music. These headphones are smooth-sounding with good bass and treble.
So should you get the Mixcder E7 {2019 Upgraded] headphones? That depends. If you have an unlimited budget, there are better options out there, of course. However, if you’re looking for a great value, these headphones look outstanding with their clever design, they fold up compactly, and have luxurious padding on the ear pads and head rest. While they don’t match up sound-wise to high-end, top-quality audiophile headphones, they are good noise-canceling headphones that hold their own.
