Penguins of Madagascar Game Launches Alongside The Movie this Thanksgiving

The Penguins of Madagascar have returned to theaters AND a brand new video game.  Little Orbit, announced the release of Penguins of Madagascar, the video game based on the upcoming film “Penguins of Madagascar” from DreamWorks Animation (in theaters November 26th). The game is now available on Nintendo 3DS, Wii and Wii U and follows the adventures of Skipper, Kowalski, Rico and Private in the pursuit of their beloved Cheezy Dibbles.

About Penguins of Madagascar the video game

Players will join their favorite elite spy team of penguins in a hunt for their precious Cheezy Dibbles, but along the way they stumble upon a nefarious plot from the evil octopus, Dave (Dr. Octavius Brine). The Penguins travel from their Tiki Home Base to exotic locales all over the world in an attempt to thwart Dave’s evil plans.

Penguins of Madagascar is a stealth platformer where players take on the role of any of the four penguin heroes and can instantly swap between them depending on skills needed to face every zany situation encountered.  Players will solve puzzles and utilize each penguin’s individual abilities like wall climbing and ledge grabs to foil Dave’s diabolical plan. Resourceful penguins will use helpful objects like conveyor belts and moving platforms to accomplish their missions while gathering glorious Cheezy Dibbles along the way.

“Our goal was to bring that same irreverent humor that these characters are so well known for in the movies to our game,” said Matt Scott, President of Little Orbit.  “The Penguins are fun to watch as they attempt their own version of covert ops on the big screen, and we think our game captures that same hilarious tone as you play on the smaller screen!”

Penguins of Madagascar the video game is available now for the Nintendo 3DS and Wii ($29.99), and Wii U ($39.99) and is rated E for Everyone by the ESRB.

Penguins of Madagascar is the latest entry to the wildly popular Madagascar film franchise which has grossed over $1.8 Billion dollars worldwide. The film releases in theatres November 26, 2014.

I’m always a bit wary of games that are usually released with a certain movie or franchise. The movies are successful, so they just make a terrible game to go with it hoping the publicity will make people buy it. I’m not expecting too much from this game.
