Konami recently announced the Metal Gear Legacy which basically includes almost every game in the series. The key detail, however, is that this massive collection will only be available for PS3 and not 360. Fans might be wonder why, but the answer is actually quite simple.
“I’m sorry to say an Xbox 360 version isn’t being released because an Xbox 360 version of MGS4 hasn’t gone on sale, “said series creator Hideo Kojima. “To explain the situation, the amount of data in MGS4 is just too enormous.”
The PS3 uses Blu-ray while the 360 uses DVDs. This means that MGS4 would take somewhere around 7 DVDs for an Xbox 360 version. Also, MGS4 uses features unique to the PS3’s motion control built into the PS3 controller. Remember rolling around in the drum can or tugging at the marionette strings? Yeah, no way that is going to work with a 360 controller.
It was a pain to swap to disc 2 in MGS1 back on the original Playstation. So it is doubtful that gamers would want to swap discs several times and/or take up the majority of their HD space. 360 owners, however, can still enjoy the HD Collection.
