Yu-Gi-Oh is rapidly morphing into a cult franchise. Longtime players will take to the daunting interface in Tournament 2006 like Oprah to a microphone, but newbies must be willing to invest considerable time and effort just to master the basics. Anyone who takes a trial-and-error approach to deck construction will wish Konami had included more than one save slot.
That said, even though Yu-Gi-Oh!: GX Duel Academy just came out in January, fans will appreciate the addition on cards from the GX universe.
In terms of pure gameplay, the most welcome addition are the new tactical challenges. Duel Puzzles challenge you to complete specific objectives in a single turn, while the similar Duel mode sets objectives for an entire match.
