Atari announces strong lineup for Xbox & Xbox 360

Atari has released a list of 6 games in development for the Xbox and the Xbox 360 at Microsoft?s X05 event in Amsterdam. When questioned about the games for the 360, Atari Europe?s Marketing Director Cyril Voiron said, ?The games we are currently working on for Xbox 360 represent a diverse offering, with the focus squarely on delivering quality and an astounding next-gen experience.?

The announced line-up includes:

Alone in the Dark (XB 360)- Credited by many as the game that created the survival horror franchise. In this installment, Atari promises superior graphics, open environments with interaction, and real-time physics. Alone in the Dark is being developed by Eden Games.

Test Drive Unlimited (XB 360)- This well known racer will have high-end graphics, a multitude of online modes, thousands of miles to burn your virtual rubber on, and a choice of over 100 drivable cars. Test Drive is also being developed by Eden Games.

Time Shift (XB 360, XB)- This FPS is described as ?empowering gamers with the ability to slow, stop and reverse the flow of time.? Atari believes these game play mechanics will take FPSs to the next level of gaming on the Xbox and the Xbox 360. Time Shift is being developed by Saber Interactive.

Driver: Parallel Lines (XB)- With this title, developer Reflections Interaction is hoping to recapture the excitement of Driver 1. The game will feature open-ended objectives, online play, and is set in New York City.

Marc Eco?s Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure (XB)- Besides going for the longest title in gaming history, Getting Up will try to make graffiti artists proud by paying homage to graffiti?s culture. The story is told through the eyes of a young artist struggling to be the G.O.A.T. in a futuristic world. This game is being developed by The Collective.

The Matrix: Path of Neo (XB)- Atari is hoping developer Shiny Entertainment?s second trip into the Matrix is better than its first attempt Enter the Matrix. While that title sold well, it was panned by fans and press alike for its many bugs and glitches. Things are looking much improved for The Matrix: Path of Neo. Players will get to fill Neo?s shoes this time around and the game will allow the player to re-live the best moments from the Matrix trilogy. The Matrix?s creators and directors, the Wachowski brothers, are scripting and directing the game, and all the major actors from the trilogy have signed on to perform the voice-overs. Hopefully Shiny Entertainment can do the movies justice this time around.
