Coming in late April, Microsoft is looking to make a beefy upgrade to its Xbox 360 systems. The ‘Elite’ system will be released in limited supplies (couple hundred thousand) and this has been confirmed so don’t worry, this isn’t a mean April fool’s joke.
The Elite package will include:
- A black Xbox 360 (controller and live headset are black also!)
- A HDMI port and HDMI calbe
- A 120 GB HD
- No HD-DVD or integrated WiFi support (Microsoft still hasn’t broken here yet)
- Will run cooler than the early 360 units (65nm chips aren’t confirmed yet)
- All for a grand total of – $479
Eventually the Elite package (in white) will overtake the role of the Premium Package so all future Premiums will be sold with the 120 GB drive and HDMI support. I’m sure my fellow MyGamers still have some questions for Microsoft like, does this mean a price cut is coming soon with the 65nm chips? Are future Premium buyers getting the 120/HDMI included? Why no WiFi? Will we see a revolt by early owners on the 360s?
