Electronic Arts announced today that Boogie will be released for the Nintendo Wii on August 7, 2007 in North America and August 31, 2007 in Europe. The game will be shipping to retail packed with a karaoke microphone and feature new versions of tracks made popular by bands including The Jackson 5, M.C. Hammer, Kool & The Gag, The Village People, Cyndi Lauper and Britney Spears.
“We have assembled a great selection of music for the game that will appeal to players of all ages, making this dancing and karaoke game the ultimate party package for the entire family,” said Alain Tascan, Vice President and General Manager, EA Montreal. “Wii is expanding videogames to untapped markets pulling in a new audience of gamers that typically did not play games in the past; Boogie will give these diverse players something new to enjoy as well as share with their friends and family.”
Players will dance, sing and create music videos with this ultimate videogame party package that takes advantage of the innovative Wii controls getting gamers off their couch and playing to a new beat.
