congrats man. i went with platinum for my wife's ring, white gold for me. but if you're seriously wondering the differences between the two, the pros and the cons...ask me and i'll tell you.

Elaborate. It's tentatively scheduled for the 23rd. I have every Friday afternoon off, but she works the full day. I'm going to go to her apartment and set up a treasure hunt. I'll hide 5 clues in envelopes around the apartment, each one with some signifigance to our past or future, each leading to the next, each consisting of a pair of rhyming couplets. Her favourite flower is the calla lily, and she has three fake ones in a vase. I'm going to replace one of them with a real one and put the ring in that, on the stamen. The 5th clue will lead her right to it, out in the open the whole time! The final pair of rhyming couplets will be spoken by me, on one knee, when she has the ring in hand.

Thanks. I hope it goes according to plan. I know she'll say yes, but I hope the order of the clues doesn't get screwed up or anything.
Chunky. I like peanuts and chunky always seems to taste more authentic and less processed than smooth.

Paper calendar, it's just much easier to mark up, and it won't corrupt itself.

Avalanche. I know a few things that might keep me alive in that situation. In a rock slide, you're pretty much toast. Not even goast toast, unfortunately.

Well, the rock slide would hurt more initially, but you'd probably be unconcious while you die. In the avalanche you'll suffocate slowly. That's excruciatingly painful. So I guess I'll take rock slide.
