"Masters of the Universe" is a cartoon based on action figures by Mattel, Inc. and was animated by the now-defunct Filmation. The syndicated show, which featured the exploits of a super-strong hero named He-Man, debuted in Sept. 1983, and throughout the course of 2 seasons, aired 130 episodes. "Masters of the Universe" also goes down in marketing history as being the first cartoon of the '80s to be based on an action figure line after FCC deregulation.
 
i think it's funny that the show was just based on action figures. i think a few things have dont that since....i bet most 80's cartoons were done that way....my guesses:

my little pony, starbrite, carebears, popples. i bet there are more. what was that other animal show where each character was a cross between two different animals?
 
nope, based on action figures that were based on world war II, and thus that explains Kobra Commander, and since we're reeminiscing on the 80's Gumby could kick GI Joe's ass anytime.
 
I'm curious as how the hell you people can take me serious, shit I don't know, hitler had an infatuation with cobras, since he saw one of his men get bitten and killed by one, since then hitler had one obsession, cobras, he cloned himself and had some of his best scientist add cobra dna to his, after 1000 disastrous attempts only one emerged successfull, he had the body of a man, but the head of a snake, he also had a lisp and problems reading. Once he found out what had happened to the original, "pure" hitler, he dedicated his life rebuilding his fallen empire, and named it "Kobra", remember he had problems reading and writing, now he lives his life trying to avenge himself, vowing to destroy the G I Joe's, who had caused hitler to kill himself, he also didn't like the transformers, but that's a story for another day.
 
No I was just talking out of my ass, wow wouldn't that be a great transformer, an ass that transforms into a megaphone type robot with a very loud voice but terrible breath, quick people what's another good transformer that has yet to be created
 
one in the shape of the windows logo that transforms into the blue screen of death - that would be it's uber fighting move
