Video game opening cinematic are tasked with a moment to capture us playing the game. It immerses us immediately into a this world that the developer want us to enjoy. For me, some opening are equally important than the game itself. A well crafted cinematic will immerse a player even before the game begins. Here are some of my favorite opening cinematics. The Fallout 4 opening scene. Hands down, it's my absolute favorite. It's even better then the Fallout 3 opening scene, which is also another good one. Though, they did cheat a little with using filmed footage, instead of creating it from scratch. But, this way it will stand the test of time.
Though, it's the monologue that really makes it, not the imagery used.
