MumboJumbo, an industry leader in casual games, has released Luxor 2 to the Xbox LIVE Arcade. The original Luxor won the award of #1 casual game of 2005 for the PC, but Luxor 2 promises to set a new benchmark in casual gaming by offering 3D visuals and classic addictive gameplay.
"Launching on Xbox LIVE Arcade is a major milestone for MumboJumbo and the LUXOR franchise," said Paul Jensen, President of MumboJumbo. "Xbox LIVE fans have come to expect only the best in quality from the platform, and LUXOR 2 is without question one of the most fun and compelling casual puzzle games available today."
Players are armed with a scarab shooter to explode chains of colored orbs through 88 highly detailed levels. Supporting many Xbox LIVE features, the game promises to stay competitive through the use of leaderboards, and achievements. Players can easily see where they rank against the world’s best. The game supports four modes of play including an Xbox LIVE exclusive, Pharoah’s Challenge.
Luxor 2 has already gained recognition as one of the hottest selling games of 2006/2007 and has likewise celebrated critical success, having been recognized by the Casual Game Association as achieving "Best Visual Arts" and "Best Audio" of 2006. The Luxor franchise has amassed more than 50 million downloads over its lifetime, and – in addition to Xbox LIVE Arcade – may be played on the PC, Mac, PSP(R) (PlayStation(R)Portable) system, MSN Messenger, PDAs, cell phones, and soon, the Nintendo DS(TM).
A free demo is available for Xbox Live users and the full game can be purchased for 800 Microsoft Points ($10).
