Medieval Lords: Build, Defend, Expand challenges aspiring city governors to build and manage thriving cities, protect against invasions from neighboring kingdoms, and expand into new territories ? all in the city building genre?s first 3D environment that lets the player zoom right into the action and build anywhere on the map.
* Defend! Build strong armies to protect towns from over 20 varieties of invading neighbouring kingdoms ? a new element to city building games.
* Expand! Conquer neighbouring lands to expand resources and military strength.
* Exciting single player campaign: Ten-story driven scenarios, additional maps available for download.
* Freedom of construction: Construct buildings anywhere and lay roads wherever you want: Nearly 100 buildings are available, along with upgrades and free-shape buildings that fit in tight spaces. The technological tree includes 6 families of technology.
* Immediate graphic feedback: The city?s visual aspects change with the neighbourhoods? quality and the wealth of its inhabitants. It also changes with technological evolutions, as new buildings and new defences are made available.
* Environmental influences: Hills are natural defences against invaders, but slow down the city?s expansion; rivers provide water and make agriculture easier; high-altitudes are more effective for breeding livestock; winds fan flames and determine the direction in which fire spreads.
* Full 3D engine. Medieval Lords: Build, Defend, Expand is the first city builder game to feature a full 3D engine. Players can manage cities in the traditional god?s view and then zoom in to walk the fields and wander the streets as if they were experiencing their handiwork in person. The camera can rotate in all directions; zoom is fully supported all the way into first-person view. The terrain is in full 3D, and height impacts buildings? zones of influence and the way water flows.
* Non-orthogonal grid. Build the city exactly the way you want, without the constraints of the traditional orthogonal grid. For the first time in a city builder, design without limits!
* ?Free form? city elements. Some elements, like fields and cemeteries, do not have a predefined shape or size: players can give them the shape they want and the economics simulation will take the elements area into account.
