NAMCO BANDAI Games has announced that it will produce a new PS2 game based on the popular anime Eureka Seven. Many may be familiar with Eureka Seven through its resent run on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim.
[I]Eureka Seven Vol. 1: The New Wave[/I] will feature Mecha combat inspired by the series. The Mecha are called LFO's (Light Finding Operation), they can come in humanoid and vehicle forms. The LFO's fly on Ref-boards that can surf on invisible light particles, and players will be able to hone their boarding skills to perform ollies, carves, and other aerial tricks. Gamers will fight it out with enemies in customizable weapons-based, close quarters melee, and vehicular combat.
Players will take control of Sumner Sturgeon on missions for the UF Force LFO Riders. [I]Eureka Seven Vol.1: The New Wave[/I] will be a prequel to the animated show and reveal the events leading up to the Eureka Seven anime series.
[I]Eureka Seven Vol.1: The New Wave[/I] is scheduled to hit stores in Fall 2006 for the PS2.
