Kurruptions Rants

Ok, I just saw Fantastic 4 today. Everyone should see this movie because I think it provides a clear test of whether or not you are a movie snob or just plain hate movies. I thought this movie was extremely fun. Was it Batman Begins? No. Was it Batman and Robin? Definitely not. It was funny, had some cool action sequences, the characters were cool, and the plot was pretty good for the length of the movie. When I first heard they were making a movie about the Fantastic 4, I really had my doubts. I didn't know hardly anything about the comic, but the heroes just seemed dated. Well, I really enjoyed this movie. I walked out of Episode III feeling very disappointed. I walked out of this movie feeling glad that I had seen it. So, in the end, there are only two reasons why anyone would hate this movie: you are an extreme fan of the comic books and they totally botched your favorite character (as I said, I know nothing of the comics so they could have easily done this), or you just plain hate movies.

I just might have to go check this movie out. I wasn't going to, well except for the fact that Jessica Alba is in it. That's all. :iloveusig

Jessica Alba is too hot in this movie, wijg mentioned why people would hate this movie, well here's some useless information for you, I am a comic geek, and my favorite character is Dr. Doom, and they did screw him up in this movie, but I did enjoy it. So far the best summer movie in my mind is still Sin City, sure batman was great, but Sin City was a masterpiece.

I was curious about how they handled some of the characters Kurruption. As soon as Sin City hits the digital versatile disc, I shall check it out. That and Hitchhiker were the pre-summer movies I wanted to see. I saw Hitchhiker, but I missed Sin City. Oh well. It is something to look forward to I guess.

Sin City was brilliant. I loved that movie. The colors, the story, the acting, all of it was awesome. It was the best 2 hours sitting on my ass I ever spent. Plus, Jessica Alba is wayyy hot! Very good flick. Definitley one of the movies that needs to be purchased when on DVD. :treasure:

Knowing nothing about the Sin City comics, did the movie follow any story arc from the comic or was it an original story in the Sin City universe?

I don't know much about the comics either, but I think they followed them very closely. I think the movie was very well done but it was a little too violent for me, and you're talking to a woman who saw Die Hard while in elementary school. I think it was the torture, there was A LOT of it. And Frodo scared the crap out of me, very very creepy.

On a completely unrelated topic, I think this looks more like Harry Potter than Austin Powers.
:austinpow

they had a harry potter one. they had tons of movie characters but most of them looked nothing like them...they had some stars and stuff too. i didnt bother to waste stan's precious time with those. i need him to use that time moving these hills of sand with tweezers.

Sin City followed three graphic novels as close as possible. These stories were, A Dame to Kill For, The Big Fat Kill, and, That Yellow Bastard, which I recommend everybody go buy right now, now DAMMIT. And don't underestimate Stan with those tweezers, he filled up my sandbox in about two months

OK I have a rant, and it's a big one, warning the following rant contains profanity and harry potter spoilers.

So harry potter mania was upon us once agian, and I was one of the lucky few to work in a place that had a midnight release party for the half blood prince. Around 10:30 about 600 people walked in and the craziness began. Well to make a long story short, midnight release party, over 700 copies sold, I didn't get home until 3 in the a.m. Where's the rant? It's a FUCKING book, what is the difference between getting it at midnight and getting it at noon, oh we might run out, there is a walmart, barnes and noble, kmart, target, etc, etc and hey, there are going to be millions of copies left, and reprinted.

Not just that, everybody has been handling the book like it's the fucking holy grail, please, the whole story had leaked to the good ol' net about a week prior to it's release oh yeah, his best friend dies, thank you internet, you just saved me 30$, I mean I'm watching best week ever right now and they are commenting on how some truck driver delivered the book and he couldn't stop due to some gps device they had on his truck, does it really matter if people find out about it before it's released, I mean it's inevitable right.

OK, so It's 1 am, and I have my harry potter book, now to go home and read, oh shit I forgot, I have to wake up tomorrow for work, school, etc.

Some of you are probably potter fans, hell most of you probably are, now this is no hate agianst the whole franchise or whatever, to each his poison, but why the hell do people like us have to suffer, is it really important to get some piece of merchandise that you will get rid of in a month early, and all the other promotianal crap that happened. It was mandatory to dress up, bastards, actually getting work done was impossible, shit, getting home at 3 a.m. when I usually do it at 11, fuck! Come on

Like I said this isn't due to potter himself, do people really need to get a copy of halo at midnight, or the new fifty cent cd, People listen and listen good, it'll still be there in the morning!!!

Then agian, I shouldn't complain, I was at line to see episode 3 early, but in my defense, episode 3 was an experience, we were in line, grilled some steaks, had a hell of a time, and then saw a good movie. Harry potter, well you wait in line until midnight for a book, that is all. So in other words, the book is the expierence, you could of just waited a bit longer for it.

I didn't read your post Kurruption, because I didn't want to know the spoilers. But the pope didn't like Harry Potter. Because apparently, if you read entertaining fiction, you are going to Hell. I guess that's another strike against me.

There is a disadvantage to being among the first to read the book. I waited until noon to get my copy and I finished by midnight. I really enjoyed the book, but I have NO ONE to discuss the book with because they haven't finished. I'm dying to rant at length and I can't. By the way wijg, kurruption's rant doesn't really contain any spoilers.
